Important Terms Seen During the Training

Honestly, I think almost all (if not all) of the things mentioned in the training are key for us, who want to be teachers, or facilitators. I made a list of terms; some are already included in the rest of the content in the blog:

Lesson Plan

This post is to show the lesson plan I prepared to teach students a basic School Vocabulary. The lesson plan was done thinking of a class of one hour only. It goes as follows:

Reflections' reflection

Looking at the past reflections I have made, I can see that my views have not changed so much.

Reviewing and re-reading content to create this portfolio, I came to think even more about how much useful CLT approach can be when teaching, especially a language, since it allows us to work directly with the purpose of us learning a language: communication. And I do still think that if I one wants to have good experiences while learning, it is useful to remain open and humble, and keep the self-confidence from becoming over-confidence. This is good for students and also teachers, since we're all learning all the time, about something.

Reflections

Here, we are going to see the reflections I have made during the time of the training, which lasted four weeks. There was a reflection made for each first and second week, and one for the last two weeks.

Outline of Two Activities Done During the Training

In this post, we will be seeing the outline of three of a lot of activities we performed in the classroom. These three are the ones that I remember the most.

The Training Experience in a Few Words

The first thing that came to my mind about the training the memory of an activity that made me realize how much I needed to learn, when I thought I knew a lot.

The training for me had a lot of things to learn from, not only about teaching English or another language, but also teaching and/or learning anything. And, not only about teaching, but about social interaction and management of ideas, emotions and behaviours, through the many activities we did. This was probably intended for the students, but it worked on me too, and probably on other mates. For me the key moments, in a general way, were mostly the activities we did, the teaching practice, the explanation of the rules to the "students", since they allowed us to integrate and put to practice the things we had studied so far.

Class Observation Scan

In the observation practice, me and Antonio observed two classes/teachers. The first one, in classroom 6, I liked him a lot. From the moment I entered the classroom I was able to notice the good environment in there, as well as the good relationship that the students seemed to have with the teacher, and among themselves. The teacher was directing the class, according to what I observed, based on the objectives he had written on the board. Also, almost every student in the classroom participated, and they did it with a smile on their face.
