Reflections' reflection

Looking at the past reflections I have made, I can see that my views have not changed so much.

Reviewing and re-reading content to create this portfolio, I came to think even more about how much useful CLT approach can be when teaching, especially a language, since it allows us to work directly with the purpose of us learning a language: communication. And I do still think that if I one wants to have good experiences while learning, it is useful to remain open and humble, and keep the self-confidence from becoming over-confidence. This is good for students and also teachers, since we're all learning all the time, about something.

Moreover, now that I am thinking and reflecting more deeply about the training, I can say that it had to do a lot with our brains (even if it seems obvious), our memory, our cognitive processes, being aware of being aware (or of what we are learning, thinking, doing), and social interaction. And this allowed me now to create a connection between all these topics, Ts (us) and Ss, and the purpose of the training. Additionally, I think that this knowledge could be helpful to everyone, regardless of them wanting to be a teacher or not, since it has to do entirely with something we are always doing, consciously or unconsciously: learn; and if there is something specific one wishes to learn, then one can apply such knowledge in do it in a more efficient and conscious way; we can use it with purpose. Being very important to know, also, that every single person learns in a different way, has a different style and different pace, which I think is good so we can stop calling people "slow" or "stupid", when also some areas of their brain might be more developed than others. And perhaps we can use here the direct or indirect approaches, depending on the specific needs and the moment; the indirect approach can be uselful when it comes to teaching and learning, since we basically learn things without us planning it or having it as a purpose.

To me the way we manage our class is important, beyond what the supervisor may think of it, because it is people we are dealing with (a large amount, generally), and even more, they are trying to learn... hopefully. Lesson planning, with which I need more practice and study.
